And the MSM is only now asking how to fix this mess.

Your other choice McCain Bush III:

Have you ever asked yourself, what the heck is a neo-conservative? I’ve wondered myself because they appear to not have the least bit of conservative in their policies. Well here is a wonderful answer to that very question.

The Earmark that Backfired

In 2005 Republican Rep. Don Young of Alaska championed a $10 million earmark for a highway interchange. The earmark appeared in an 835-page transportation bill called SAFETEA-LU. Rep. Young was the man behind Alaska’s infamous $233 million “Bridge to Nowhere,” so this sounds like nothing unusual for him, except that . . .

* The project wasn’t in Alaska, but as far away as possible, in the Florida district of Republican Rep. Connie Mack.

* Mack and other local Republicans opposed the project. There were environmental concerns and higher priorities.

* But they were told that they had to accept the project or risk losing future federal funds.

Why? Because a local developer who owned 4,000 acres near the proposed interchange had raised $40,000 for Rep. Young’s re-election campaign. The interchange would multiply the value of his land. When asked about it by a reporter for the New York Times Rep. Young responded with an obscene gesture.

But there’s more:

The rest of the story…

McCain does gorge on the lobbyist meal ticket.

“…
McCain to gorge from Democrats’ lunch pail?

Ripped from the wires … Contrarian columnist Froma Harrop explains why the Republican presidential nominee is angling to enjoy a Big Mac Value Meal at the Democrats’ expense.

By FROMA HARROP ( http://fromaharrop.com/ )
John McCain has used these weeks of Republican calm to dive into the Democratic lunch pail. This strategy clearly assumes a Barack Obama candidacy. If demographics are destiny — as the political sages keep telling us — Democratic demographics may offer some choice cuts to the presumed Republican nominee. By dumb luck, Republicans have chosen their one candidate who projects a moderate image, hasn’t alienated Latinos and offers an appealing life story to boot.
…”

While I preemptively refuted this claim in my blog entry on May 6, 2008 (http://www.danielscochran.com/dscblog/?p=93 ), I have to believe my thoughts are more to the truth than Froma Harrop’s thoughts on McCain taking the Democrats for a “ride”. I think the Democrats and the 527s are going to take McCain for a beating the Vietnamese never gave him. Where will the Dems and 527s get all this ammunition? Well from McCain himself of course. Anytime this man opens his mouth, anytime this man makes a decision, and anytime there is a debate he will provide more than enough proof that he is an unfit leader.

Just these last five days we have reports of how he is in bed with lobbyist to run his campaign, run the GOP convention and make decisions on the direction of how he will govern. These lobbyist have been linked with 527s that produced Progress for America which was fined for violating Federal Election laws. The same lobbyist has been linked to military regime in Myanmar (aka Burma) [1][2]. McCain was looking at hiring one lobbyist that had to be passed on because of his own history of close ties to shady foreign governments. This from the gentleman from Arizona that would lead the United States people to believe he is the champion of campaign reform and ridding Washington of lobbyist [3].

This is the same man that has time and time again since The Keating Five professed to campaign against lobbyist influence on our national policies. But his campaign management choices show that he is really, really deep in bed with the very folks he speaks out against to Joe 6-Pack on the campaign trail [4].

In a recent interview with Bill O’Reilly, McCain states he did not vote for Bush/Cheney and reverses himself not seconds later in the next sentence. What are we supposed to believe the reports from meeting he had where he says he did not vote for Bush/Cheney or his words on cable news? The transcript from the interview is very clear in McCain’s response to the question of his vote for Bush/Cheney [5]. Now to the old man’s defense, Mr. O’Reilly was being a bit “fast” with the question so maybe the old man forgot the rehearsed response he was taught to speak.

McCain’s constant forked tongue speaking will catch up to him when he has to face a debate. If there is a real debate, you know the old fashion ones where the candidates actually speak to each other about issues. The debates of the last few elections seem like well rehearse acts planned out by the candidate’s campaigns to not touch on issues or actually debate each other on points of views.

Respectfully, I submit to Froma Harrop that she is a bit off on where McCain feeds from this and past elections. To say that McCain will be feeding from the Democrat’s lunch pail is way off from where he is really feeding out of… the lobbyist meal ticket.

Iran denounces Hillary Clinton’s threat in letter to UN chief
UNITED NATIONS, April 30 (Xinhua) - … (www.chinaview.cn) [fyi note: .cn is China as .us is United States]

It’s a very sad day for “freedom of the press” when we have to go to China to get news of the world. I did a scan to attempt to find the second story to this post, but could only find it in Europe, Middle Eastern, and Far Eastern papers (websites). (Google search: Iran response Hillary) But if you add “UN” to it you at last see a CBS report that makes mention of this statement(s) by the Democrat nominee hopeful - Clinton II. I always attempt to back up my post with “thoughts” or “views” with a second, third, forth, or more post before deciding this must be some facts to consider.

The comments on blogs say a lot as to what I fear is part of the problem with America right now. On several of the sites, the comments (usually by one or two ids) are posting the “hell yeah, nuke everyone”; “kill all terrorist”; “Islam is a haven for terrorist”; etc. Most of the blog post or comment post on sites in the Internet that make mention of anything non-Bush/Cheney are littered with response of how the Bush/Cheney isolationist empire is a good thing for America. It is repeated time and time again.

A formally excellent site for politic debate was politico.com till February 2008. That is when they banned any dissenting commentators from making post against their choice in the Republican primary votes that were upcoming. Politico.com as far as I can tell is owned by CNN which is one of our only five media companies that report the “news” to the United States at this time. There are very few “free” press sources left in the United States. When one of these “free” press sites starts to point out how something The Five are stuffing down the throats of the masses as incorrect, the “free” press is labeled as un-american to the masses.

We the members of the Revolution have many task ahead of us to get this country back to where it should be in the near future. You know that place where we look to the only Law of the Land, the Constitution. One of those task, which in my opinion will be the hardest, is to get back to “free” press. Not the current press controlled by The Five. When we have to rely on just The Five to provide us with our news “fair and balanced”, “we report, you decide”, or whatever slogan they attempt to portray at the time, we are feed half-truths and news that is skewed to The Five’s views only.

It is our duty as one of the awaken, to keep our locals informed as to “free” press news and views. We must become active in our local newspaper’s websites, we must become vocal in our local party (Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, etc.), we need to start setting up Meet-up groups. We need to get out of our houses and let folks around us know, we share their hopes and dreams of a free America and get them involved. When we become a group of five or ten, we can then become a group of ten to a hundred, then we can become a group of hundred to a thousand voices that will be heard by our county, our state, and then finally our federal governments.

It is time to take back the press! Take back our federal government of the corporations and return it to the government of the people.

Ruled by McCain = Wars, many wars, and isolationist continuation of Bush/Cheney

Here is an excellent video (almost 10min) of a McCain (his own words) stance on foreign policy for the next century. The utter truth is this fellow is the worst thing that could happen with continuation and expansion of Bush/Cheney’s isolationist, empire that we, our kids, our grand kids, and our great grand kids will have to pay for in the end.
